It All Begins HereARI AND CAMA MA(E)SSAGE
FOR SIX FOOT PLATFORM
(2025)
My work is a daily ritual of seeding useful imagination into a traumatized society. Dedicated to transcending mental illness, for over twelve years now, I have been building Aricama, the spiritual /sci-fi universe of practice, play, and healing through puppetry, musicals, visual art, social media, and fashion. This universe represents my relationship to my own body as I navigate the sacrificed indigenous Filipino ancestors deep in my DNA.
In the created mythology of Aricama, my two main characters, friends to lovers, Ari (orange) & Cama (yellow with crystal eyes), liberated their homeland, Aricama, from the poisonous bees. Ari & Cama wish for you to use this playful art installation to really imagine releasing any burdens out of your mind as you puppet the little arms. May the sound of the bells deem energetic protection to keep out what does not serve you and to make more space for your empowerment.
Tourists passing by had the opportunity to interact with the installation to rid of the noise in their heads as they puppeteers the arms of Ari and Cama.
Performed for Dumbo Brooklyn’s SIX FOOT PLATFORM from 12pm - 6pm on September 27, 2026 with the one and only, Fara Faidzan.
